Blood Dungeon Platforms and Release Info: Price, Date, PS5, Xbox, Switch

On this page
The Blood Dungeon price is $9.99, and the release date was August 25, 2026. Blood Dungeon is a single-player bullet-heaven platformer from Messhof, the studio behind Nidhogg, and it launched on PC (Steam on Windows and macOS, plus the Xbox app on Windows), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on the same day. The 15% Steam launch discount ended on September 8; the US Steam base price is $9.99 as of September 15, 2026.

PC (Steam)
The Steam version covers both Windows and macOS, and it is the edition with the most official information behind it:
- $9.99 US base price. Check Steam for your current regional price or a later promotion.
- Full controller support is built in, and the game is designed around movement, so a controller is a natural fit.
- The install is only 300 MB, and the minimum spec targets 60 fps at 720p on low settings — see the system requirements page for the full numbers.
- Steam Deck Verified: it runs out of the box on Deck, and GamingOnLinux's launch-week review confirmed a smooth playthrough on Proton 11. Our Steam Deck guide has the details.
Buy it on the official Steam store page.
PlayStation 5
Blood Dungeon on PS5 launched on August 25, day one alongside PC. There are no PlayStation-specific editions or extras announced so far — it is the same single-player game with the same content as the other versions.
Xbox Series X|S
Blood Dungeon on Xbox Series X|S also released at launch, and it arrived day one on Game Pass. Xbox lists it for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass across Xbox Series X|S, PC and cloud. Subscription catalogs can change, so check the official Xbox listing before subscribing. That listing also marks the game as Xbox Play Anywhere with Xbox cloud saves.
Nintendo Switch and Switch 2
Blood Dungeon on Switch is the full game — and it runs on both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, which the official launch notes list separately. Either way the short-run structure suits handheld play: runs are quick, and the controls map cleanly to a controller.
Nintendo also lists a dedicated Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack. Its official feature list promises enhanced graphics—including screen effects and particles—and an improved frame rate on Switch 2. The page confirms the upgrade pack exists but does not show a public price; check the eShop for the current amount.
Free demo and save transfer
Not sure yet? There is a free demo on Steam with 1 level, 2 of the 11 characters currently available in the Steam full game, and a limited weapon set. The official demo page confirms that saves transfer to the full game, so anything you unlock while trying it is still there after you buy. The demo guide covers exactly what is included.
Current version and updates
The latest published Steam update is v2026093002, posted October 1, 2026; SteamDB records it as Build 25644478. It adds Nuclear Throne's Yung Venuz, the SMG and Crossbow weapons, the Boiling Veins charm, the Dodge spell, and associated quests. This is a Steam update: the official console listings do not confirm that PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or Switch 2 received the same version as of October 2. The announcement also does not say that the temporarily disabled Scepter has been re-enabled. The patch notes track every update as it ships.
