Achievements and Trophy Guide: Beating the Hardest Challenges

Updated 2026-09-26

On this page

This guide follows Steam's 45 achievements and their current global completion rates. Some platform trackers show different conditions for the same challenge: Steam's live achievement list says Explosionist requires refusing 10 upgrades in one run, while XboxAchievements lists 5. Check the list for your platform before planning a run.

Every Blood Dungeon achievement below comes with the share of players worldwide who have earned it. Read that number as a difficulty rating β€” above 50% comes naturally, under 5% is a project. If you want the flat list of all 45 conditions, the unlock checklist has it. This trophy guide is for the Blood Dungeon achievements that actually stop people, in the order they stop them.

Stay airborne for 5 seconds β€” Bug (9.2%)

The first real wall, and the Blood Dungeon achievement players search for most. The drop from 63% to 9.2% tells you most players never chase it deliberately. The trick is that "airborne" means off the floor, not in the sky: ladders, chains and vines let you stay off the ground, so climb something and sit there for five clean seconds. Your reward is Bug, the flying character.

A late-level run full of vines and ladders β€” climbing any of them keeps you off the floor, and off the floor is what "airborne" means

Fully explore Boiler and Flood β€” Multiheal (25.3%), Crystalize (0.7%)

Two achievements ask you to "fully explore" an arena, and the gap between them is the story. Fully exploring Boiler earns Multiheal, and a quarter of players have done it. Fully exploring Flood earns Crystalize β€” only 0.7% have managed it, because Flood is the last arena in the chain and most players never reach it at all.

"Fully explore" means seeing the whole arena, not just surviving it: sweep every area before the run ends. Do it on a run that is already going well rather than burning a fresh attempt on sightseeing.

Come back from the dead β€” Candlemaker (0.5%)

The rarest Bone Shop unlock in the game. The official condition says only "come back from the dead" β€” it doesn't say how. The obvious leads are the two Bone Shop items with revival-flavored names, Life Insurance and Defibrillator, so pick one up and let death do the rest. (What the Defibrillator itself actually does is covered in the mechanics guide.) At 0.5%, this one belongs on your endgame list, not your first week.

Fly for 30 seconds β€” Jetpack (2.1%)

Thirty seconds of flight is the long-distance version of Bug's challenge, and at 2.1% it lands much later in a typical save. Unlike the 5-second climb, you want to actually fly here β€” which is easier once you have Bug unlocked and airtime-friendly upgrades like Airbound in the pool. The reward is the Jetpack.

Kill 50 monsters in one second β€” StimGun (29.3%)

Nearly a third of players have done this, so it's more puzzle than wall. Fifty kills in one second means one hit landing on a crowd: group enemies up, then detonate them together. The reward is the StimGun.

Two under-30-second boss kills

Two speed-kill achievements sit surprisingly high on the list, which means they're very achievable with a focused attempt:

  • Defeat Bone Snake in under 30 seconds (68.0%) β€” earns Slow Enemies.
  • Defeat Wyrm in under 30 seconds (66.1%) β€” earns Leech.

Two-thirds of players have each one, so if the window feels out of reach, come back after a few more Bone Shop upgrades and hit the boss with everything from the first second.

A boss fight against Frogeus with the boss health bar at the bottom β€” the speed-kill achievements want Bone Snake and Wyrm finished in under 30 seconds each

700 damage in one shot β€” Stagger (8.9%)

The condition is exact: at least 700 damage in one shot with the Magnum. That number is far beyond what an early Magnum does, so treat it as a scaling challenge β€” come back once the weapon is upgraded, and fire it into something that can take the hit. The reward is Stagger.

The secrets most players miss

None of these Blood Dungeon secrets are hard β€” they're just easy to never do:

  • Play the Daily (8.6%) β€” one daily run earns the Vampire Ring. Most players never touch the mode. See the daily run guide.
  • Refuse 10 upgrades in one run on Steam (6.7%) β€” earns Explosionist. You have to deliberately say no to power, which is why almost nobody does it.
  • Retrieve 25 harpoons (3.2%) β€” earns Flippers. A pure grind: fire harpoons, then go pick them up instead of leaving them behind.

Bunkhouse (0.2%): the true endgame

Beat every level with every character from the bunkhouse. One in five hundred players has it. Save it for when the rest of this trophy guide is done.
